Due to the ongoing global energy crisis, demand for heat pump systems has significantly increased. Heat pump units, which are primarily used for heating, are now also being widely adopted for domestic hot water production. To meet this growing demand, the THERMOCOLD product portfolio—supplied by Atlantik Grup and utilized in numerous projects across Turkey and surrounding countries—has been expanded to include the new CWC SHT series units.
As illustrated in the diagram below, an air-cooled AWA HP series heat pump operates in integration with the water-cooled CWC SHT series unit to produce hot water at temperatures up to 80°C. In summer, the AWA HP unit generates chilled water at 7/12°C for cooling purposes. In winter, it sends hot water at 40/45°C to the condenser of the CWC SHT unit. The CWC SHT unit then raises the return water temperature from 70°C up to 80°C.
Unlike fossil-fuel-based boiler systems that struggle to provide a stable energy source, this configuration enables the reliable and cost-effective production of domestic hot water. Because the system integrates both air-cooled and water-cooled units, there is no need for secondary energy sources such as cooling towers, geothermal wells, or seawater.
Thermocold CWC SHT Series Water-Cooled Booster Units Offer Distinct Advantages Over Their Counterparts Thermocold‘s CWC SHT series water-cooled booster units offer a range of unique features compared to their alternatives. The units can optionally be equipped with acoustic jackets for the compressors, significantly reducing noise levels. They have a compact footprint and are easy to install.
CWC SHT units can also be integrated with other Thermocold products such as the 4-pipe Quatro, Domino HP XEA, and MEX HP XEA series units. For optimal system performance, it is recommended to include a buffer tank in the setup.
Available in models with 2 or 4 compressors, the CWC SHT series offers heating capacities ranging from 77 to 550 kW. These units are positioned as excellent alternatives to fossil fuel-based systems.
They present a practical and cost-effective solution for hotels, large commercial buildings, hospitals, office blocks, spas, clinics, nursing homes, and schools. Due to their ability to reach high water temperatures, they also help eliminate health risks such as Legionella.
