AAON-rooftop

The RN series rooftops, produced by the world’s leading rooftop manufacturer, the American company AAON in Tulsa, have become the preferred choice for many international projects due to their high energy efficiency, ability to operate in high temperatures up to 55°C, humidity control, space pressure control, and 100% fresh air operation without return air at 55°C outdoor temperatures. These features have made them the preferred choice in regions with extreme climates.

In countries with desert climates such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, where outdoor temperatures reach 55°C, over 200 AAON rooftops are already operating, either in mixed air mode or 100% fresh air mode without return air. The reason for their ability to operate at such high temperatures is due to the large condenser areas of the units.

AAON rooftops have been used in many prestigious projects executed by Turkish contractors, such as Coca Cola Hilla-Kerbela, Enka Construction’s Besmaya-Bazyan-Erbil Power Plants, Çalık Enerji’s Al Khatar & Nainawa Power Plants, Medina Airport, and US Bases in Afghanistan, among others. In most of these projects, the requirement was to operate at outdoor temperatures of 50-55°C, which led to the preference for AAON.

AAON rooftops are equipped with digital proportional control compressors as standard, allowing the discharge temperature to be adjusted precisely. This is particularly important in applications requiring 100% fresh air, where maintaining a stable discharge temperature is a crucial parameter.

AAON rooftops maintain a constant discharge temperature, allowing the airflow and compressor gas flow to adjust according to the cooling load of the environment. Thanks to the variable-speed digital scroll compressor and variable-speed fan, which operate in a capacity range of 10%-100%, these rooftops can achieve an average energy saving of approximately 50% compared to fixed air volume and on/off capacity controlled rooftops.

The optional Hot Gas Reheat System allows for humidity control without additional energy consumption, making it an energy-efficient solution.

The space pressure control feature, which is provided as standard, allows the space to be maintained at either a positive or negative pressure, based on the specific requirements. This ensures that uncontrolled outside air cannot enter or exit the conditioned space.

The double-walled, 50 mm thick, thermally efficient panel structure is standard, and the heat loss and gain from the device surface is three times lower compared to standard rooftops. This feature is particularly important in high-temperature regions, where heat loss can significantly impact efficiency.

Due to all these features, AAON rooftops stand out in providing custom system solutions that designers need, making them a preferred choice in desert climate conditions and green building applications.
